Two PhD positions are available at the University of Texas at Arlington in Resource and Energy Engineering, starting Spring 2027. Position 2: Geophysical Forward and Inverse Modeling focuses on computational geophysics for imaging and monitoring subsurface energy systems. Preferred preparation includes geophysics, geology, petroleum engineering, or applied math, plus seismic methods, wave propagation, signal processing, Python or MATLAB, and experience with FWI or Bayesian inversion.
