About this position
Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is recruiting a Postdoctoral position as crystallographer within the ACER Centre of Excellence in Morocco. The center is a multidisciplinary research environment focused on chemistry and engineering challenges, with research themes spanning catalysis, separation, energy generation, conversion and storage, and organic optoelectronics, as well as advanced polymers and materials.
The postdoctoral researcher will carry out original research of international excellence, contribute to publications and conference dissemination, communicate research progress to the project team, and build collaborative links with scientific staff across related programs. The role also includes helping identify improvements in the research structure, supporting proposals for external funding when needed, contributing to undergraduate and master's teaching materials, assisting with equipment purchasing and international supplier interactions, and supporting PhD student supervision.
The ideal profile combines materials science, chemistry, and crystallography expertise. Applicants should hold a PhD in one of these areas and have strong knowledge of crystallization techniques. The key technical requirement is expertise in crystal structure solution using single-crystal X-ray diffraction data; experience with powder X-ray diffraction or electron diffraction is an advantage. Experience with advanced structural characterization will be highly valued, together with a strong publication record, excellent English communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
