Funded PhD Positions (Open Call) – University of Akureyri, Iceland University of Akureyri in Japan

The University of Akureyri in North Iceland is inviting applications for up to three funded 4-year PhD positions in an open call across several academic areas. These doctoral positions are designed for motivated candidates who want to pursue independent, high-quality research within a dynamic, internationally connected university environment.

PhD opportunities are available in social sciences (sociology, law, psychology), health sciences (nursing), education sciences (education studies), and business and natural sciences (natural resource sciences, biotechnology, fisheries and aquaculture science, business administration). The positions are fully funded and include a salary in accordance with Icelandic collective agreements. Successful doctoral candidates will be employed by the University of Akureyri for the duration of the programme and are expected to be based in Akureyri throughout their studies. The roles are structured as 75% research and 25% teaching, with teaching duties agreed upon with the relevant academic faculty after appointment.
