About this position

Texas A&M University is recruiting for a funded PhD student and/or postdoctoral researcher in the MSCE Lab “Megascale” within the Zachry Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Research areas: computational electrokinetic flow, multiphase porous media, water treatment, resource recovery, and energy systems. The work uses computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations and physics-based AI methods.

Who they want: applicants with a strong background in CFD and numerical methods, programming skills in Fortran, C, C++, or similar languages, and preferably prior experience with physics-based AI. A degree in computational/applied math, mechanical engineering, or a related field is suitable; preparation and research fit matter more than the exact degree.

Funding and timing: one funded PhD opening is available, and a postdoctoral researcher position is also open. The PhD start is Spring 2027; the postdoc can start as soon as possible.
