About this position

This project investigates how human cells respond to nanoplastic–biotoxin co-exposures within the broader context of the human exposome. The research combines proteomics and metabolomics with ensemble machine learning to map cell state dynamics, identify exposure thresholds, and build dose-response models for emerging contaminants. It also uses biosensing protocols to quantify exposure and connect molecular profiles to toxicological outcomes.

Supervisor: Dr. Michelle Yap Khai Khun, Monash University, with associate supervisors Dr. Ong Huey Fang, Dr. Krystle Angelique Santiago, and Dr. Faddrine Jang.
Funding: Successful applicants will be awarded a Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship (GRES), including a full tuition fee waiver and a monthly stipend for up to 3 years 6 months.
Eligibility: Minimum First Class Honours (H1) or equivalent recognised by Monash University Malaysia, plus English language requirements.
