About this position
Join KTH Royal Institute of Technology as a postdoctoral researcher in the ERC-funded DynanoNet project, working on electronically tunable membranes for digitally controlled separation. This position is based at the Department of Fibre and Polymer Technology, within the Fibre Processes and Technology division in Stockholm, Sweden.
The project aims to develop a new class of cellulose-based membranes with electronically controlled properties, enabling adaptive and digitally controlled separation processes. The research is led by Assistant Professor Tobias Benselfelt and is embedded in a strong interdisciplinary environment that combines fundamental science, advanced materials research, and collaboration with industry and research partners.
The postdoctoral role involves independent research in the project area, coordination of experimental work with a PhD student, presentation of results at project meetings, workshops, and international conferences, and maintenance of project documentation and reporting. The successful candidate may also contribute to the supervision and mentoring of PhD and master’s students.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in materials science, chemical engineering, polymer science, electrochemistry, membrane science, or a related field by the time the employment decision is made. Excellent English communication skills are required. The ideal candidate will also have a recent PhD or equivalent degree, research experience in membrane science, electrochemistry, transport phenomena, nanofibrillar materials, cellulose nanofibrils, hydrogels, or filtration technologies, and practical experience with electrochemical techniques such as impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, or chronoamperometry. Experience with experimental design and device construction, plus a strong publication record, will be viewed positively.
