Postdoctoral position in System Virology at Lund University
Lund University’s Faculty of Medicine, Department of Translational Medicine, is recruiting a postdoc for the Systems Virology group led by Associate Professor Joakim Esbjörnsson. The project focuses on virus-host interactions, viral pathogenesis, and the development of a human secondary lymphoid tissue explant model based on tonsil tissue.
The work combines experimental and bioinformatics approaches, including tissue dissection and slicing, tissue culture optimization, cryostat sectioning, staining, ELISA, FACS, viral infection experiments, virus titration, qPCR, immunofluorescence, and data analysis in R and Adobe Illustrator. The successful candidate will also help prepare reports, manuscripts, and group presentations.
Eligibility highlights: a completed PhD or equivalent foreign degree is required by the time of appointment; applicants should have experience in cell biology, molecular biology (especially PCR-based methods), and virology, plus excellent English communication skills.
