About this position

Postdoc / Researcher II in Morphology or Syntax at the Department of Czech Language, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University (Brno, Czech Republic).

The project is Gradience and variation in natural language (PI: Guy Tabachnick) and focuses on quantitative and theoretical research on gradience and variable phenomena, especially in inflectional paradigms, inflectional allomorphy, syntax of clitics, agreement, and the phonology-syntax interface. Methods mentioned include corpus studies, experiments, and wug tests.

This is a full-time, fixed-term employment contract for 3 years. The post is described as a non-academic position in the vacancy notice, but it is explicitly a postdoc role. The successful candidate is expected to publish results, ideally in Q1 journals, and present at conferences.

Eligibility highlights: Ph.D. in linguistics or a related field; ideally the Ph.D. should be completed by the start date or shortly thereafter; at least 2 WoS/Scopus publications in the last 3 years is preferred, with at least one as first/corresponding author; prior experience with the topic or research projects is an advantage. English at C1 is required; Czech is not required.
