About this position
The Chatterjee Laboratory is recruiting two Postdoctoral Fellows, one Laboratory Research Technician, and one Post-Baccalaureate Fellow for a newly funded NIH-supported research program at the University of Maryland.
The research focuses on the mechanistic basis of antibiotic resistance in Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and its role in bacterial pathogenesis. This is a strong fit for candidates interested in microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, bacterial molecular genetics, and cellular microbiology.
Postdoctoral Fellows should have demonstrated experience in mechanistic research in bacterial pathogenesis; experience with S. aureus or related Gram-positive bacteria is preferred. The lab also seeks a technician with experience in bacterial molecular genetics or cellular microbiology, and a post-baccalaureate fellow with strong motivation, curiosity, and communication skills.
What the program offers includes independent research projects tailored to experience and career stage, opportunities for high-impact publications, collaboration with leading scientists, conference travel, networking, mentoring, and career development support. The post does not list a deadline or salary/stipend details.
To apply, email a CV, a cover letter describing research experience and career goals, and the names and contact information for three references to imetadmin@umaryland.edu.
