About this position
Texas A&M AgriLife Research is advertising a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in College Station, Texas, United States, within the Rangeland, Wildlife & Fisheries Management department.
The project combines environmental science, geography, ecology, agricultural economics, and conservation planning. The postdoc will develop and implement a spatially explicit method to characterize and prioritize private working lands based on flood mitigation potential and land-conversion risk, help build a Texas Coastal Prairie value-risk prioritization map, and design and analyze a landowner survey using Protection Motivation Theory and participatory GIS (PPGIS). The role also includes extension and outreach activities such as community workshops, decision-support tools, interactive maps, and train-the-trainer workshops.
Eligibility: a Ph.D. in natural resources, geography, ecology, environmental science, agricultural economics, or a closely related field is required. Preferred experience includes survey design, quantitative and mixed-methods research, ecosystem services modeling, flood-risk assessment, rural/private landowner engagement, community-based research, conservation easements, open-space valuation, and collaboration with multi-stakeholder teams.
Funding: the position is grant funded and contingent on grant availability. The proposed minimum salary is $5,000 per month, with a benefits package including insurance, paid leave, and retirement enrollment.
