This postdoctoral position focuses on global modeling of riverine sediment connectivity and human alterations of sediment fluxes. The research combines environmental science, earth science, geomorphology, civil and environmental engineering, hydrologic modeling, remote sensing, and data/computer science. Key tasks include building or extending a river-network sediment-routing model, integrating it with hydrologic models from project partners, and estimating terrestrial sediment supply including sediment volumes and grain-size distributions. The work contributes to the DARE project (Digital Atlas of Riverine Ecosystem Services) within the Schmidt Sciences Virtual Institute on Earth’s Water (VIEW).

Eligibility highlights: applicants must have completed all Ph.D. requirements except the dissertation at the time of application, and must hold the Ph.D. by the start date.
