Athina Tzovara

PhD opportunity in Neuroscience at the University of Bern , Switzerland, in the group of Athina Tzovara . The project focuses on EEG and auditory processing in wakefulness and sleep , with an emphasis on how neural representations of auditory information change when consciousness diminishes and under different task demands. The research environment is interdisciplinary and collaborative, bringing together cognitive, clinical, and computational neuroscience at the Center for Experimental Neurology (ZEN) and the Institute of Computer Science. The group studies human brain function using high-density scalp EEG, intracranial EEG/ECoG, and single-unit activity, combined with machine learning and multivariate decoding approaches. Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in neuroscience or a related discipline . Required experience includes EEG recordings and analysis and the ability to program independently in Python or R . Helpful additional experience includes signal processing, statistics, time-frequency analyses, multivariate decoding, EEG experiments, cognitive or auditory neuroscience, and sleep research.
