Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is inviting applications for an immediate Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Hydrodynamic Simulation of Underwater Bodies . The research focuses on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) , hydrodynamic simulation of underwater vehicles and structures, turbulence modeling, multiphase flow, Fluid–Structure Interaction (FSI) , numerical modeling, and high-performance computing. The project also mentions scientific computing with Python, MATLAB, or C++ , and experience with tools such as ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, or STAR-CCM+ . Preferred applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or a closely related discipline. A strong publication record in CFD, hydrodynamics, marine engineering, or related fields is preferred, and experience with underwater vehicles, artificial reefs, offshore structures, or marine hydrodynamics is an advantage. The position is based at IIT Guwahati, Assam, India , and the work is connected to advanced numerical simulations with applications in marine engineering, underwater robotics, and nature-inspired engineered systems.
