Ph.D. Student Positions Available | Energy Extraction from Shale The Katti Research Group at North Dakota State University is recruiting doctoral students for a federally funded project on energy extraction from shale . The research combines advanced computational modeling and laboratory experiments , offering hands-on training in both simulation and experimental methods. Applicants with backgrounds in engineering , physics , chemistry , geosciences , materials science , or related fields are encouraged to apply. Prior petroleum experience is not required . Candidates with a master’s degree are preferred, although exceptional bachelor’s degree holders may be considered for direct Ph.D. admission. Students must meet the admission requirements of the NDSU Graduate School and be eligible for the Materials and Nanotechnology Ph.D. program .
