Fully Funded PhD in AI-Integrated Robotics for Crop Biotic Stress Management at University of Georgia

Fully funded PhD opportunity at the University of Georgia in the Precision Crop Protection Laboratory , affiliated with the School of Environmental, Civil, Agricultural and Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Plant Pathology. The position is for a PhD student starting in Spring 2027 in the Biological and Agricultural Engineering program. The research topic is AI-Integrated Robotics for Crop Biotic Stress Management , with a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence , robotics , sensing , computer vision , and precision agriculture . The lab works on engineering solutions for crop protection, automated crop management, and real-world agricultural robotics applications. Funding includes a competitive stipend and a full tuition waiver . The position is intended to be filled immediately, so interested applicants should apply as soon as possible. Eligible backgrounds include Agricultural Engineering , Mechanical Engineering , Biosystems Engineering , Electrical Engineering , Computer Science and Engineering , or related fields. Required qualifications include a strong academic record with a minimum CGPA of 3.50/4.00 , strong communication skills, excellent research ability, motivation, and hard work. Preferred applicants have prior experience in sensing, AI, or robotics research, or publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. International applicants must meet English proficiency requirements: IELTS 7.0 overall with no band below 6.0 , or an equivalent TOEFL score. GRE scores are optional.
