PhD position in Neurobiology and Neuropharmacology at the University of Camerino, Italy , within the 2026 Italian National PhD Programme in Theoretical and Applied Neuroscience . The project is titled Neurobiology and Neuropharmacology of Impulsivity, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and Substance Use Disorders (topic list code 3.4). The research will examine the neurobiological mechanisms underlying impulsivity and sustained attention, and how these processes contribute to ADHD and substance use disorders, with emphasis on stress-related neural systems. The successful PhD candidate will train in an international, multidisciplinary environment and gain experience with behavioral models of ADHD and substance use disorders, pharmacological and genetic manipulations, chemogenetics, optogenetics, in vivo neurophysiology, viral-mediated receptor up/downregulation, molecular biology, histology, immunohistochemistry, RNAscope, brain imaging, and data analysis. Applicants with backgrounds in life sciences, behavioral pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, molecular biology, medicine, or related disciplines are especially encouraged to apply.
