Ricarda Richter-Dennerlein

University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher / PostDoc (f/m/d) for the research group of Prof. Dr. Ricarda Richter-Dennerlein in the Department of Molecular Biology. The project focuses on the function and biogenesis of ribosomes in human mitochondria , with a strong emphasis on mitochondrial biology , gene expression , ribosome biogenesis , and related mechanisms of human disease. The group studies how the human mitochondrial ribosome is assembled and regulated, the roles of associated factors, and the quality-control steps that maintain functional ribosomes. The work combines advanced biochemistry , molecular and cellular biology , iPSC culture , cell differentiation, mass spectrometry, and structural biology in a collaborative Göttingen campus environment. The post is embedded in a highly international and research-intensive setting at the University Medical Center Göttingen, with access to local core facilities and collaborators. Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a PhD in life sciences such as molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline. Experience with stem cells/iPSC culture is important, and analysis of large data sets (transcriptome/proteome) is advantageous. Fluent English is required. The group is looking for a motivated scientist who can work independently and in a team. Funding and terms: fixed-term full-time position for 2 years, with the possibility of extension, paid according to TV-L 13 .
