Postdoctoral position open in stem cells, restorative neurology, and stroke research at Lund University . The project is connected to the Zaal Kokaia group and the Lund Stem Cell Center , with a strong translational neuroscience environment and access to advanced facilities for cell biology, animal behavior, electrophysiology, imaging, FACS, MRI, single-cell profiling, and bioinformatics. The research framework focuses on developing new therapeutic strategies for stroke by: (1) generating and transplanting human induced transcallosal projection neurons (hiTCPNs) and oligodendrocytes (hiOLs) to restore interhemispheric balance and improve recovery; (2) studying how neuroinflammation affects graft integration and network reconstruction, including the role of transplanted hiMonos; and (3) building a human ex vivo microfluidic organotypic stroke-on-a-chip model to study pathology, regeneration, and validation of human cell-based therapies. Successful candidates are expected to prepare a research proposal outline aligned with one of these themes. The post is explicitly advertised as a postdoc position .
