About this position

DAAD is offering Study Scholarships for Postgraduate Studies in the Field of Architecture for international students and researchers who want to continue their education in Germany.

This is a Master’s/postgraduate scholarship for applicants with a first university degree in Architecture or closely related areas such as Interior Design, Monument Conservation, Building in Existing Contexts / Reconditioning of Old Buildings, Urban Design / Urban Development, Landscape Architecture, and Landscape Planning. The programme supports study or project work at a state or state-recognised German university.

Funding includes a monthly payment of 992 euros, travel allowance, one-off study allowance, insurance contributions, and possible additional benefits such as rent subsidy, family allowance, disability/chronic illness support, and climate-friendly travel support. DAAD also provides language support, including online German course fees, a pre-study German course if needed, optional German courses during the scholarship, and reimbursement for TestDaF/DSH fees. Tuition fees are not covered.

Applicants must meet the degree and programme requirements, including the required ECTS distribution in Design/Projects. Some host universities may require an entrance examination and separate admission, so applicants should check university-specific requirements and deadlines carefully. Applications are submitted via the DAAD portal; after the formal check, selected candidates will be asked to submit work samples.

Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.
