The project is designed to address major environmental contamination challenges in Australia and aims to deliver an integrated PFAS-removal solution with technical, economic, and environmental benefits. The research environment includes strong infrastructure for materials characterisation and ultra-trace PFAS analysis, plus access to equipment, consumables, computational resources, laboratory facilities, and a supportive HDR culture.

Funding: living stipend of AUD 37,500 per year tax free (2026 rate, indexed annually) and tuition fees covered. This is a scholarship project aligned with a government-funded fellowship scheme.

Eligibility: open to domestic applicants only (Australian citizens or permanent residents). Competitive selection considers academic record, publication record, honours and awards, and employment history. Helpful background includes polymer chemistry, water treatment, chemistry, molecular dynamics simulation, and strong achievement in materials science.
