NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) is advertising a PhD Candidate in Computational Mechanics of Protective Structures under Blast and Impact Loading at the Department of Structural Engineering in Trondheim, Norway.

Eligibility highlights: a relevant Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computational Mechanics, or equivalent; strong academic performance (normally B or better on NTNU's scale); and admission to the PhD programme in engineering. Master students may apply if they complete the degree before starting and no later than 2026-11-30. Preferred experience includes finite element methods, plasticity and failure modeling, structural dynamics, design guidelines for structural engineering, blast/impact/shock loading, and programming/scientific computing (Python, Matlab, C++ or similar).

Funding: salaried PhD position at NTNU, normally NOK 550,800 per year gross, for 3 years.
