About this position
PhD opportunity in Continuous Optical Clock at the University of Amsterdam, Faculty of Science, Institute of Physics, in the Ultracold Strontium Group led by Prof. Dr. Florian Schreck.
The project focuses on optical clocks, ultracold atoms, strontium, and AMO physics. You will help build a zero-deadtime, continuously operating optical clock using a continuous ultracold Sr source and multiple interrogation zones. The role also includes teaching support for bachelor and master students and participation in group activities and outreach.
Funding and contract: temporary PhD contract for 4 years total (initial 18 months, then extension after satisfactory evaluation), 38 hours/week. Salary ranges from €3,204 to €4,051 gross per month (Scale P), excluding holiday allowance and year-end bonus. A 30% ruling may apply to non-Dutch applicants.
